Aisha, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has said that supporting Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election will ensure employment for women and young people in Nigeria.
At the South-South APC Women and Youths Presidential Campaign Rally’s opening ceremony on Saturday in Calabar, Aisha—who is also the team’s grand patron—spoke.
Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the APC presidential candidate, was used by the first lady to address the crowd of party members, assuring them of better things to come.
Voting for Tinubu/Shettima in the upcoming election is a vote for development, for Nigeria’s unity, and for advancement.
“Have of our spouses had held the office of governor before, and we both served as first ladies of our respective states.
It is simple to demonstrate that we have always been aware of our obligations by being considerate of the needs of our community and informing our husbands about events taking place nearby.
“My sister and I today promise you that you may count on us as your partners in progress, and that you can rely on us to make sure that topics that are important to you are kept at the forefront.”
“By God’s grace, a vote for Tinubu/Shettima is a vote for the elevation of women and a vote for the development of an enabling atmosphere for our youth to thrive,” she stated. “We are totally dedicated to ensuring that women issues are given priority in the next administration.”
Aisha pledged her unwavering dedication and commitment to the South-South APC youths’ cause while praising their display of love, solidarity, and support.
“So, young people, we haven’t forgotten about you. In this new administration, we assure you that you will be supported at every turn, she continued.
The president’s wife also guaranteed that Tinubu will be continually made aware of the situation of the less fortunate in society.
We’ll make sure to consistently remind our husbands about the suffering of the underprivileged and the importance of empowering and elevating our women, she stated.
The wife of the governor of Cross River, Dr. Linda Ayade, and the South-South Zonal Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign have urged the South-South APC women to turn out in large numbers to support Tinubu/Shettima in the 2023 Presidential election.
She reassured that the overwhelming support for the APC would undoubtedly lead to victory in the 2023 elections.
Dr. Betta Edu, the APC National Woman Leader, also spoke and asked the APC women to inform women about the importance of safeguarding their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and supporting Tinubu/Shettima for Nigeria’s development and prosperity.
Edu further instructed them to conduct a door-to-door campaign to assure the APC’s victory in the 2023 elections.
Some of the dignitaries at the event included the Special Assistant to the President on Africa first ladies Peace Mission, Dr Mairo Al-Makura, former Chief of Army Staff retired Gen. Abdulrahman Danbazau and former FCT Minister, Alhaji Modibbo Aliyu.
