The Department of Food Science and Technology’s 400-level student Obayomi Suliat Adeola and 300-level student Mojoro Faith Afolakemi defeated 49 other tertiary institutions in the 2022 Grand National Academic Competition.
The National Institute of Food Science and Technology hosted a graduation ceremony this year.
In a tournament where both represented the university, 50 tertiary institutions took part, according to Osun State University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Clement Adebooye.
Adebooye added that the competition started in June with an essay writing contest, and their kids won the first round to advance to the competition’s final round.
The competition’s final round was presented at the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology’s annual general meeting.
Our team easily defeated the other finalists to win Overall Winner in Nigeria, he emphasized. “The participating finalists were then invited to compete in a discussion as part of the AGM held just yesterday in Abuja.”
