Rep. Tunji Olawuyi, member, representing, Ekiti, Irepodun, Isin and Oke-ero Federal Constituency of Kwara has expressed regret over attitude of some beneficiaries of his empowerments programmes in the constituency for selling those items at ridiculous prices

Olawuyi said this while addressing the people of Irepodun Local Government Area at a Town Hall Meeting tagged “Ajulo Meets Constituents” on Thursday in Omu-Aran.

The Town Hall Meeting is an interactive session cutting across political divides to answer questions bothering the minds of the people.

He said that it was worrisome to know that some people sell the empowerment they get at ridiculous amount, while urging them to resist from such act capable of denying others the empowerment.

He urged artisans in the LGA to steamiline their association in a bid to know the necessary people to deal with during empowerment.

He added that it would not augur well to deal with multiple association representing same interest.

“Ensure you streamline your association so we will know who we are dealing with. Many have benefited from my empowerment and they are artisans but claiming not to benefit.”

He promised to address all the concerns raised by participant at the town hall meeting, this he said would come in a gradual process.

He said that his office would now deal with heads of different association in the next empowerment rather than individual, but said if such an approach failed and there was an infight, he would discontinue with the approach

According to him, I think the best method is to register some association in my office so I will know who to deal with.

Some of the people who attended the town hall meeting include: Traditional Rulers, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Council of Imams, Pensioners, All Nigerian Conference of Principals, All Farmers Association.

Others include: Youths, Market Women, Motorcycle riders, Patients Medicine Association, National Union of Road Transport Workers, National Union of Local Government Employees, Performing Musician Association of Nigeria (PMAN) among others.
