The report by Kwara Reporters with the above title has proven right those who argue that blogs and bloggers are ticking time bombs. With their desperate ambition to achieve popularity for their platforms without the willingness to put in the required hardwork, the bloggers often become promoters of lies and destroyers of family bond, just as Kwara Reporters intended to do with his mischievous publication.
With the name, ‘Muhammed Abdullahi’ being a very common name, I have no way to verify if indeed the person so appointed into the APC Presidential Campaign Council is indeed Bolaji Abdullahi’s brother. But that is not even important, what is important is even if he is, what is the big deal about it; and how did getting appointment in one party meant rejecting one’s brother in another party. Was there no time that we have two brothers of the same parents contesting for the same position under two different political parties in Katsina? Does that mean they have rejected each other.
The terrible thing about the story by Kwara Reporters is that is that whoever may be sponsoring it to publish the junks, thinking it would affect Bolaji Abdullahi politically. But the news published by Kwara Reporters about one brother rejecting another because of a presumed alliance to different party is a hatchet job by one mischievous Lucifer. Because how can any honest person ignored a Bukola Saraki, whose sister (Gbemisola) “rejected” (to borrow Kwara Reporters word) her father’s political legacy and teamed up with other Otoge crusaders to bring down the Saraki dynasty in 2019, and who is still on talking terms with his sister despite that, but you turn around to make to target Bolaji Abdullahi and make an issue out of a mere being a member of a different political parties by two brothers. Till date, Gbemisola Saraki is still in APC, and Bukola Saraki is following Atiku Abubakar in PDP. Instead of being enemies, they are even doing collaboration, with GRS reportedly influencing the emergence of Abdullahi Yamman, her protege, in her brother’s party, the PDP.
May be Kwara Reporters and his sponsor would be kind enough to list the number of people who are family members but belong to different political parties, even in Kwara and then tell us whether that means they have rejected one another.
Today in Kwara, Hakeem Lawal is the gubernatorial candidate of SDP, but his sister, Fatima Arionla Lawal is the House of Assembly candidate in APC. Does that mean the Up Lawal children have rejected each other?
Hon. Bio Ibrahim, former Speaker and ex minister, is in PDP, but his daughter (biological daughter), Dr. Jemila Bio Ibrahim is still in APC working for AA and currently serving as SA on SDG. Does that mean the father and daughter have rejected one another?
Hon. Cook Olododo, SDP House of Representatives candidate for Ilorin East and Ilorin South Federal Constituency is in SDP, but his biological son, Qowiyy Olodo is with AA and currently serving as the Acting DG of KWASSIP. Has Qowiyy and his father rejected each other?
In Saraki family, apart from Gbemisola Saraki who hasn’t shared the same party with her brother for some years now, another Saraki’s cousin, Ope Saraki is currently the NNPP candidate for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency in 2023. Has Ope also rejected Saraki?
Musbau Esinrogunjo, currently the Senior Special Assistant to AA on Rural Mobilization has a younger brother, Braimoh Esinrogunjo who works as a Press Officer for Bolaji Abdullahi, a candidate of the PDP. Does that mean the Esinrogunjo brothers have also rejected each other?
I learnt there is even a brother of APC Senatorial Candidate in Kwara Central who is a strong PDP mobilizer in Ojagboro and Gambari. Does that mean Saliu Mustapha has also rejected his brother?
I can go on and on, but I believe I have made my point. I will be surprised if Bolaji Abdullahi’s team respond to this cheap propaganda. If Gbemisola Saraki and Bukola Saraki had left the APC together when they did, would we still hear the name Saraki every Wednesday when the Federal Executive Council is meeting. Gbemi being a Minister has ensured that the name of Saraki continues to echo in the Nigerian political space. How many people still talk about Adedibu today. Or is he not to Oyo’s politics what Saraki was to Kwara politics? This is why it is important for family to know that their relevance in politics should not be build around just one person. Smart family spread out and bring whatever honor they all get from their different parties back to their family to keep the family’s name sustained politically. This propaganda from Kwara Reporters is rubbish and I promised never to open any link associated with that platform ever again. So help me God, Amen.
