Public outrage has been generated by a 30-second video clip of Patrick Fakoya, alias Rico Swavey, a former reality TV star, in his last moments at a hospital in Lagos State.
The deceased Rico Swavey was put on oxygen while he was unconscious on a chair in the film that was taken by one of the nurses caring for him.
When the nurse pulled out a phone and began recording him, it was seen that the nurses were attempting to transport him on a bed.
A different nurse could be heard advising her colleague not to do it.
The nurse replied, “You guys should stop filming the video; someone is dying, and you people are creating video.”
Samuel Atigba, a marketing expert, responded to the video by denouncing the actions of the nurses
“Anytime I watch that video of the nurses joking, laughing, and making unnecessary videos of Rico for social media instead of giving him the necessary urgent attention needed to save his life, my heart breaks over again because he could have survived,” he wrote using his verified Twitter handle, @SamuelOtigba. Rico, RIP.
“This institution should be closed and the license of those nurses should be taken,” a director named Egai Eti wrote.
According to Symbol News Alert, the reality television personality was hurt on Tuesday.
Doctors were attempting to revive him, according to a fellow Big Brother Naija Season 3 ex-housemate, Alex Asogwa, who posted the news on her Twitter page on Tuesday.

Gbenga Omotoso, the state’s commissioner for information and strategy, announced that an investigation had been launched by the state government.
“That hospital is not a government hospital,” he declared, “and we have begun an investigation into the improper behavior of people who appeared in that video.”
