The senator representing Kwara North senatorial district, Pharm Sadiq Umar has declared that the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has been developing Kwara North in a significant manner.

The senator also said that, Governor Abdulrahman cannot leave basic necessities of life unattended, while pursuing other things of secondary priority.

While responding to questions on Kwara Must Change popular radio program, “Eto Wa” during a legislative dialogue session, Senator Sadiq said that “in my opinion, there’s significant change and development in Kwara North”.

The Senator argued that, depending on what people see development to be, but to him, development is all inclusiveness.

According to him, you don’t look at things just from your own perspective, your social status and what you expect.

“Development is all inclusiveness from the lowest person in the society to the highest person. So, if you say there’s no development in Kwara North, then maybe you don’t know kwara north and you have never been to the villages, the wards and all the local governments, where we live and work. He said.

Senator Sadiq explained that, if you go to an average village where they drink brown dirty water together with cattles and now they have clean water that they are drinking, if you ask that man about development in Kwara North, he will tell you that there’s a change, but the person sitting in ilorin may not care about that and to him, that’s nothing.

“People in higher social status wants to see brilliant roads and gigantic structures and that’s there own understanding of development, but the government is fixing our schools, it is addressing the welfare of our teachers, training them to be digital complaince etc, but this is not development to people with different expectations ” he said.

Senator Sadiq questioned such expectations, saying where are we coming from?

He argued that, we are coming from a mess, where everything is dilapidated, from schools to hospitals and so on and all that are being addressed by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led administration.

“Governor Abdulrahman has moved Kwara North from underground to uplevel and the next phase will be to now focus on more significant aspect of growth and development”

The governor can’t leave something that is decaying and start focusing on bigger issues, he needs to address that first, he said.

He concluded that, people of Kwara North are happy with the government and we will support it massively to continue the good work it is doing.
