At Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, a gas plant burst close to the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s global headquarters.

According to reports, the explosion in the Mowe neighborhood caused panic among the locals. Despite not being RCCG-owned, the gas plant was adjacent to the Redemption Camp. The explosion this afternoon was confirmed by Nosa Okunbor, spokeswoman for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

“The gas explosion happened right before the main entrance of Redeemed. Interestingly, the item is not owned by Redeemed; rather, it is simply by it, according to Okunbor. It is close to a gas station in a busy neighborhood.

LASEMA report stated that the fire originated from one of the cylinders before spreading to the two other stationed trucks. In order to reduce the possibility of a secondary occurrence, it was stated that the trucks and the damaged cylinders were dampened.

LASEMA added that no fatalities or injuries were reported. The Lagos State Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service are among the first responders on the scene.
