Irked by disparaging comments from the defeated candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last senatorial election in Kwara South and current candidate of the opposition party, Sen. Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim on Igbaja town and her people, a new twist was noticed at the weekend.

An Igbaja indigene and chairman Kwara State House of Assembly Commission, Alhaji Femi Yusuf has issued a bank cheque in the name of the lawmaker ostensibly rejected in the 2019 election to refund him to save his people from unnecessary abuse.

Yusuf issued a N350,000 cheque which was over and above the sum earlier donated by the former lawmaker when one of his lackeys described Igbaja community as “unproductive” on social media.

However, in a swift response to the disjointed release on facebook which was observed to have enjoyed the tacit support of an insider who later back tracked, an aide of the Governor had traced the history of communal efforts of his people back to days when the former lawmaker must still be a teenager.

Oyin-Zubair posited that Igbaja people are not flippant and have had it very good under the AbdulRazaq administration.

It could not be verified if the same cheque has been sent to the former lawmaker or will be sent through the same channel where the Greek gift got to the town.
