Constituents Laud Hon. Omar Bio on Disbursement of 2nd Batch of Scholarship Grants

As political actors continue to use Kwara’s ailing educational sector for electioneering campaigns, the Dan Madamin Ilesha-Baruba and MHR representing Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency of Kwara State at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Omar Bio, fcpa, iion, has continued to make positive impacts in the advancement of education in ways such as constructions of blocks of classrooms, providing learning instructional materials, provisions of desks and chairs, grants for tertiary and post graduates of students from indigent and resident families.

 

In what began as Hon. Omar Bio’s Intervention in Education Initiative in 2019, with donation of chairs and desks to Gwanagiji community in Kaiama LGA and funds donations to Kero community, has gone several steps further to not just construction of blocks of classrooms but also provide full scholarships for indigent students of Baruten and Kaiama origin and residents.

 

The lawmaker, in his belief that education is the key to human capital development and success in any modern society, has been impacting positively in education and supporting indigent/resident students in different forms.

 

The Ilesha-born lawmaker has averred that nations that invest more in the education of her people reap the benefits in full fold, positing that he’s always delighted in supporting young people attain full potentials through diverse forms of education and skills acquisition as well as empowerment.

 

“When you give a person the opportunity to be educated, you have given that individual a future to live for. Education is a key that unlocks great potentials in human beings. When we educate people, we are at one and the same time also building our society and eradicating poverty,” Hon. Omar Bio remarked.

 

“May I once more use this occasion to commend the BKESI committee for the success recorded. I call upon young people to avail themselves of the rare opportunity that education offers and brace it up to become agents of growth and development in the society,” he added.

 

A total of not less than 40 (undergraduates and post graduates) students benefited from Hon. Omar Bio’s 2nd batch scholarship grants as captured by the authorized committee through the Baruten/Kaiama Education Support Initiative, BKESI.
