The State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Muhammad Saifuddeen, has charged contractors handling some of the ongoing projects across the state to ensure quality job execution and timely delivery of same in the interest of the people of Kwara State.
The Commissioner stated this during the week, when he paid a working visit to some of the ongoing the State Government’s mega projects in Ilorin metropolis.
Addressing the contractors at their respective project sites, Arc. Saifuddeen warned that this administration under the leadership of Mallam AbduRahman AbdulRazaq will not condone any act that contravene terms and conditions of the contracts, especially in the areas of quality job execution and timely delivery of projects, “more so that the Governor has special interest in the projects.”
According to Saifuddeen “the people of Kwara State are closely watching and observing the projects as it progresses, they are also aware of the expected time for delivery as promised by the state Government. Therefore, I want to assume also that the good people of of the state have expectations as regards the quality of the projects to be delivered on completion, and so we won’t accept anything short of expectations.” He added.
Arc. Sifuddeen further urged the contractors to furnish his office as soon as possible with details of Program of Work for their respective projects to enable his ministry make proper assessment, adding that his office is open to all, in case of any challenge or complain hindering the progress of the projects.
Responding, the Project Manager, Ilorin International Conference Centre, Alessandro Tomasoni commended the state government for upholding the contractual agreement in all ramifications, assuring
that his firm will deliver as stipulated and within the time frame too.
Projects sites visited by the Commissioner include; Visual Art Centre, Information Communication Technology (ICT) Innovation Hub and International Conference Centre, all within the state capital.
