The Kwara State Government has urged cooperation between its Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in order to expedite the state’s efforts to reduce traffic congestion.
During a familiarization visit to the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Agency (KWARTMA) to seek synergy with on traffic management in markets and other commercial centers in the state, the State Commissioner for Business, Innovation, and Technology, Honorable Ibrahim Akaje, made the statement.
Akaje complimented KWARTMA management for efforts made to ensure and maintain free flow of traffic in the state, but he urged them to make even more.
In a same vein, the state commissioner for communications, honorable Olabode Towoju, praised the agency’s efforts to maintain and coordinate a smooth flow of traffic in his remarks.
Towoju drew the agency’s attention to the need to minimize needless accidents by finding a long-term solution to the state’s indiscriminate and multiple parking of vehicles by drivers.
Earlier, Mr. Akeem Adedoyin, acting general manager of KWARTMA, expressed appreciation for the two commissioners and gave them assurances of complete collaboration and continued efforts to reduce traffic congestion in the state.
Director of Trade Mr. Taiwo Adebisi, Head of Trade Mr. Maiyaki Tsado, and Head of Investment Mallam Muritala Sarafadeen were in attendance at the meeting.
