Inter-Ministerial Press Briefing: Kwara Govt to launch Monthly Media Chat

Kwara State Government today flagged off the 4th edition of the Quarterly Inter-Ministerial Media Chat, even as it disclosed plans to introduce a Monthly Media Chat aimed at ensuring regular engagement between the government and the people on its activities, policies, and programmes.
The State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju, performed the flag off today, at the conference room of Kwara State Ministry of Finance, Ilorin, the state capital.
Delivering her welcome address, Hon. Olukoju emphasized that the two-day briefing is a vital platform for ensuring accountability, transparency, and open communication between the government and the public.
Olukoju noted that Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) would provide comprehensive updates on their activities and accomplishments for the last quarter of 2024.
“Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration remains committed to keeping the public informed about its policies and projects across various sectors in Kwara State,” she stated.
The Commissioner also seized the opportunity to disclose that, the briefing would feature presentations from the Special Assistant on Drug Abuse and the Senior Special Assistant on Community Development, reflecting the government’s approach to social welfare and grassroots engagement.
Speaking on the new initiative, Hon. Olukoju explained, “In our continuous efforts to bridge the information gap and deepen public engagement, the State Ministry of Communications will soon launch a Monthly Media Chat to discuss further and interact with the public on government activities and policies. Further details will be shared with members of the press in no distant future.”
She commended the MDAs for their dedication to service and urged them to deliver clear, concise, and impactful presentations, She also appreciated media professionals for their roles in disseminating timely and accurate information to the public.
She therefore appealed to participants to seize the opportunity to strengthen public trust and reaffirm their collective commitment to the growth and development of Kwara State.
