Kwara State Water Corporation said it envisages some pipe burst and leakages around Adewole Estate and adjoining areas as it supplies “high pressure and volume of water” to the areas later on Sunday or early Monday, a statement said.
“Our objective is to ensure that every street experiences water supply, even if they had not gotten water for some time. We will definitely experience leakage and burst because of the pressure,” according to Engineer Shehu Umar, the newly appointed General Manager of the Corporation.
“However, the streets that do not have our pipe network will not experience water supply, but they will be identified for new pipeline extension. This will also enable us to identify the other challenges and opportunities that will be focused on.”
He added, however, that this exercise will depend on electricity supply at the Assa Dam axis in Ilorin, the state capital, where the Corporation will pump the water.
