The Salman Shagaya Foundation has donated food items to over 7000 residents of Asa/Ilorin West Local Government. The first phase of distribution which was held on Friday is part of a Ramadan package for the people of Asa and Ilorin West Local Government Areas.
The distribution of the food items was aimed at putting smiles on the faces of beneficiaries during the month of Ramadan. Many of them expressed their gratitude to Shagaya.
Speaking about Ramadan earlier, Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya emphasised the need to “contribute to the wellbeing of those around us, give succour to people we find in need and study more how to solve problems instead of creating them and this is to tell you that our foundation would not stop its usual activities of supporting people. Let us keep in the forefront of our minds that Ramadan also asks of us to show greater compassion, empathy and understanding”.
Member-elect, Asa/Ilorin West Constituency, Mallam Muktar Tolani Shagaya seized the opportunity to re-echo his appreciation to constituents over the victory in the last general elections. “Ramadan asks of all of us to embrace acts of kindness, love our neighbours and reach out to the poor and needy among us”, he added.
