Bauchi Farmers Association has called out Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi to supply the 500 tractors he was paid for by the Bauchi State Government in 2018.
The Association in a statement by their Chairman, Malam Nuhu Shinkafi, said the farming sector in the state had suffered hugely from the refusal of Yaman Abdullahi to supply the tractors.
It was gathered by our medium that Yaman’s company, Hakar Engineering Limited in Kaduna State, was awarded a multi-billion naira contract of supplying 500 tractors of 75 horsepower capacity by former Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abubakar in 2018.
Yaman Abdullahi, a former Federal Commissioner at the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), is currently the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State.
The Bauchi farmers, who expressed their displeasure at the action of Yaman Abdullahi, said it smacks of dishonesty and incapacity.
“We are deeply concerned that Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi and his company Hakar Engineering Limited are yet to deliver on the contract for the supply of 500 tractors despite getting billions of naira from the coffers of our state.
“We were so happy when the state government launched this project and awarded the contract, with the hope that we will be the major beneficiaries. However, the refusal of Alhaji Yaman Abdullahi to fulfill the contract obligation has had adverse impacts on us,” the Chairman of the Farmers Association said in his statement addressed to the press.
He added that, “We therefore use this medium to again call out Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi to immediately supply our tractors. We have appealed to him on so many occasions, but it seemed they fell on deaf ears. We have also been reliably informed of his treacherous way of life. We are however warning him to supply our tractors now or refund our state, as our next line of action may cause him huge embarrassment. We don’t want to embarrass anyone. All we want is our tractors.
“We have lost confidence in him as he has failed us since 2018. He has shown great propensity for dishonesty, lack of integrity and character, and incapacity with his action. Now is the time for him and his company to redeem their fouled image by supplying our tractors. As farmers we are supposed to be harnessing the potential in our sector and its value chain.”
