A PDF file emerged over the weekend, titled KWARA FOR ALL. I’ve gone through it. It brings to bare a bagful of achievements of the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration across ministries. I recommend the PDF to all Kwarans. The sincere ones would after reading the document be proud once again and they can raise their shoulders up as Kwarans. It’s a proud moment to be a Kwaran. Many things have changed in our state for the better, courtesy: Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The opposition elements in the state have been running from pillar to post to discredit this administration. But its achievements, many of which are unprecedented and easily resonate with the ordinary people, cannot be wished away. They continue to stare them in the face like stubborn facts, giving them sleepless nights. For the PDP, the good works their leaders could not do in 16 years when they had opportunity, Governor AbdulRazaq has done. If that is what they call failure, Kwarans will reward it. Everyone is not wilfully blind. We will always go back to the records.
Do you know that part of the many fruits the Otoge we did in 2019 gave us are two radio stations built from the scratch? Nootia FM and Kakakin FM. Both are subsidiaries of Radio Kwara, state-owned broadcast corporation.
Nootia FM is in Okuta. It is the first radio station in the whole of Kwara North region. Yes, you heard me right. I repeat: the first radio station in the whole of Kwara North. Built by no less than Governor AbdulRazaq, the man wilfully blind opposition elements said has done nothing. For emphasis, no single radio station in Kwara North, even if private. That’s to show you how disconnected the people of that region are from development. And to think that some people spent 16 years without bridging that gap. AbdulRazaq is bridging that gap, bringing them road networks, waterworks, schools, and many others.
The Governor is not concentrating on the state capital alone. He’s spreading the dividends of democracy and development across the three senatorial districts, with intentionality. The 16 years of the so called Saraki dynasty littered the hinterlands with several abandoned projects. But just within three years, Kwara North has Nootia FM. What that means is that the people of the region are no longer in the mercy of radio stations in Benin Republic to get access to public information. Information is key and power. People who have succeeded had access to the right information. NOOTIA FM is here! Thank you Governor AA!
The second radio station built from the scratch is Kakakin FM. That is located in the state capital, Ilorin. Both radio stations have started broadcasting having been furnished with state-of-the-art ICT equipment that make transmission superb. The Governor is doing all these without noise and the usual jamboree. Think of the multiplier effect in employment opportunities (both direct and indirect) socioeconomic development, prestige and honour, among others.
The opposition cannot see anything Governor AbdulRazaq has done because they are pretending to be asleep. But the Kwara North people can see. And the whole of Kwara can testify. Kwara North now has a brand new station which the 16 wasteful years of the PDP could not provide for it. I will talk about the existing state-owned media organisations in my next intervention, sharing account of what Governor AbdulRazaq has done with them.
This forthcoming election for Kwarans is to make a choice whether to continue on the path of sustainable growth or slide back to the hands of termites. I trust Kwarans to make an informed choice.
