The first lady of Kwara State and Founder Ajike People Support Center Her Excellency Ambassador Dr Olufolake Abdulrazaq on Saturday 12th November attended the public presentation of a book on the history of the emirs of Ilorin.
The public presentation of the book was an initiative of the Center for Ilorin Studies and reviewed by professor Hamzat Abdulraheem the Dean of Postgraduate Studies Kwara State University.
During the public presentation, Ambassador Abdulrazaq extolled the temerity of Ilorin scholars of old adding that their contributions remain a reference for scholars even in recent times.
The first lady commended the University and the center for Ilorin studies for promoting the culture and heritage of their host community adding that events such as the public presentation of the book on the history of emirs of Ilorin stands to draw tourists to the ancient city to see for themselves the places mentioned and meet personalities still living in Ilorin today.
The first lady further added that she was proud to be inducted into the body of eminent personalities and the award given to her by the center for Ilorin studies.
Earlier the Vice Chancellor of the university of ilorin professor Wahab Egbewole commended the first lady for her social investment programmes thanked her for her support to the university while he presented her with a gift from the university.
Also the Director Center for Ilorin Studies, Professor Oba Abdulhamid thanked the first lady for her support to the center saying that the center will continue to promote the heritage of the city of ilorin.
The event was attended by dignitaries from within and outside the State.
