The Speaker Kwara State House of Assembly Rt Hon Engr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu has expressed sadness at the news of the demise of his counterpart at the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Funminiyi Afuye.
Rt Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu in his condolence message described the death as a colossal loss to Ekiti and Nigeria as a whole, remarking that he was a patriotic and fine politician with the love of his people at heart.
“I am saddened to learn about the death of our colleague and the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly Rt Hon Funminiyi Afuye, the news came to us as a rude shock. Rt. Hon. Afunye was a complete gentleman and experienced legislator who has made a remarkable impact in governance and on the lives of his people, he would be greatly missed. On behalf of the Kwara State House of Assembly the Ninth Legislature, I commiserate with the immediate family of Rt. Hon. Afuye, his constituents and the government of Ekiti State, may the Lord rest the soul of the departed”.
