Rukayat Shittu, a sensational young APC candidate for the Owode Onire seat in the Asa local government, and other female candidates and aspirants met with the first lady of Kwara, Ambassador AbdulRazaq Olufolake, on Tuesday to discuss strategies and a course of action ahead of the state’s general elections in 2023.

 

The First Lady’s meeting participants included the State APC women’s leader Hajia Fatimah, Mrs. Abosede Buraimoh, Commissioner for Youths Jamila Bake, and Commissioner for Communication, Hon. Olabode Towoju.

Rukayat Shittu applauded the First Lady’s efforts to stabilize the status of women in Kwara politics while speaking at the Government House in Ilorin.

 

As the election draws near, she also asks for her customary backing.

 

In welcoming the candidates and aspirants, Ambassador Olufolake referred to the game-changer as a warrior and said that the recent primary, which included many female participants, was only the start of a good revolution in Kwara State.

 

She gave orders for the female soldiers to pursue their goals together and with resiliency.

 

The female game changers were welcomed by the trio of Hon. Towoju (Communications), Hon. Abosede (Environment), and Hon. Jamila (Youth), who also urged them to be more focused in their interactions.

 

The First Lady’s support for the female candidates during the state’s most recent primary elections was praised by the APC Women Leader in her response, but she still wants more of it.
