Contractor Handling Osi and Ilesha-Baruba Satellite Campuses of KWASU Gets Marching Order

The contractor handling the Osi and Ilesha-Baruba Satellite Campuses of the Kwara State University (KWASU), has been given a marching order to speed up the level of work in order to meet up with the completion date.

 

The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Afees Alabi handed down the marching order during an assessment visit to both sites at Osi and Ilesha-Baruba respectively.

 

Dr. Alabi alongside the Permanent Secretary, Project Consultants, and other relevant stakeholders expressed their displeasure at the slow pace with which the contractor is handling the projects, especially the Osi Satellite Campus.

 

He disclosed that the Ministry would now embark on regular monitoring and inspection of the two sites in order to constantly checkmate their level of progress.

 

The Commissioner directed the contractor to swift into action immediately and ensure speedy and qualitative progress on the project, in order to justify the confidence reposed in the construction firm.

 

He urged the contractor to advance on the pace of work in order to bring the project to reality, considering expectations from the stakeholders.

 

Earlier in her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Hajia Sidikat Bola Alaya lauded the Governor for the priority attention placed on education and implored the contractor to deliver quality job on both Campuses, considering the huge financial commitment of the state government on the project.

 

Responding, the Project Manager and lead Consultant, Arc. Jimoh Faworaja said the objective of interfacing with the contractor is to emphasize the need for strict professionalism.

 

Having tested all the samples supplied by the contractor, Arc. Faworaja expressed satisfaction on the usage of quality construction materials.

 

He assured the Commissioner that his team would put all hands on deck to ensure that quality job is delivered.

 

Also speaking, the Director of Project, Unicontinental Construction Company, Mr. Tunji Folami assured the visiting team that the two projects at Osi and Ilesha-Baruba would be delivered as scheduled.

 

He appreciated the state government for embarking on such laudable project, assuring that his team would not compromise standard on the two projects.

 

The Commissioner and his team had earlier paid homage to the traditional rulers of Osi and Ilesha-Baruba in their respective palaces, where the Monarchs applauded the giant strides of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and pledged their unflinching support to his second term bid.
