KWIRS denies issuing an ultimatum to the governor

In a statement signed by the chairman of the ASCSN, KWIRS-Unit, Ahmad Dayo Salman, the group has debunked rumours that the group issued a 5-day ultimatum to the governor as regards the review of staff salaries. The rumour was propagated by a video that has now gone viral online.

 

The full statement reads. “The attention of KWIRS Union executive has been drawn to the viral video circulating the social media on the purported issuance of a 5-day ultimatum to the governor over staff salary review.

 

“We wish to state categorically that a congress was held today (Wednesday) 17th, August 2022 at about 4:00pm after the close of official business.

 

“Issue of salary review were prioritized among other issues that were discussed.

 

“And some resolutions were made by staff, which was agreed to be communicated to the Management of KWIRS.

 

“Be that as it may, these resolutions are yet to be communicated from the stable of the union to the management .

 

“The union is taken aback from the recent video going viral on the media and does not know anything about it.

 

“In view of this, union assure all staff that resolutions as agreed, shall be communicated to management appropriately and enjoin all to maintain decorum as usual.”
