As usual, members of the People’s Democratic Party in Kwara State went low last week. They shared a video of 2018 where few of them booed the Kwara State governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to create negative impression about him among his admirers and to discredit his performance. Thanks to TheCable and other news platforms for quickly running a fact-check on the video and alerting their readers that it wasn’t a recent video.
The All Progressives Congress joining the Kwara PDP in their campaign of calumny at this period is unnecessary and a waste of time. Instead, the APC members in the state should leave those cry cry babies to keep wailing as it’s in their habit to do so. Unfortunately for them, as they increase the volume of their campaign of calumny, Kwarans are having more reasons not to return them to power.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has broken tons of glass ceilings which his admirers and supporters can pick one after the other in campaigning for him. Theirs should be issue-based campaign and not campaign of calumny like the PDP are running theirs. Who doesn’t know that the Kwara PDP have a PhD in fake news, propaganda and name-calling? Obviously, all well-meaning Kwarans know, and this is why they feel less concerned about their propaganda. It’s AA leekan si!
AA has touched almost all the sectors. He’s done well in health sector, basic education, human capital development, general infrastructural development, etc. Just recently, the govt of AbdulRazaq supported 100 youths with N1 million grant each. Also, Kwara cabinet okayed initiative to support 30k female traders in the state. These are laudable achievements the APC should focus rather than wresting with the banished Kwara PDPigs on the media space.
A friend of mine said wresting with the Kwara PDP is like wrestling with pigs. This is a bitter truth, though. Pigs enjoy every minute you waste in wrestling with them. It’s the same thing with the Kwara PDPigs. A people that don’t have a good image to protect! So, why do you now want to waste your precious time on them when you can unsettle their camp and give them migraine through the sharing of the governor’s achievements in the last three years?
However, this is not to say their lies shouldn’t be outrightly dispelled. Fake news sell more than good news. Fake news consume good news as powerful animals consume the weaker ones. So, the only way to kill fake news itself was what TheCable did to their self-destructive video which they shared last week. I recall that despite their booing and bullying AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in 2018, he still went ahead to uproot their extremely corrupt dynasty.
Kwara PDP is on the self-destructive journey again and this is why I’m urging the progressives not to join them in this Seppuku. Gov AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is God’s project and He shall deliver him once again. I’ll leave the governor’s supporters and admirers with the quote of the author of BECOMING and former first-lady of America Michelle Obama on how to handle bullies like the Kwara PDP, “When they go low, we go high.”
Above all, may Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq succeed.
